Future Rockhounds of America

The Rockheads of Tupelo

Here's a chance for our youth to have activities just for them.  There are 15 different areas that have goals and badges to be earned.  After six badges, they get a Rockhound Badge as a mark of their accomplishments.  

Dana Jones and Jim Roberts are the senior advisors to this group.  The group will get together at each NMGMS club meeting.

At the Nov. 16th Rockheads meeting, there were 8 juniors present.
5 Rockheads:  Jake Carr, Conrad Armstrong, Andrew Diaz, Victoria Langford, and James Pettigrew
3 guests:  Liam Langford, Lauren Schaeffer, and Danielle Schaeffer.
All present worked on the Paleozoic Era of the geologic time scale project.

 December 2013 Awards

Konrad - Rocks and Minerals, Earth Resources, Fossils, Collecting, Earth Processes, and Earth in Space.  Plus he got the Rockhound badge.
Victoria - Rocks and Minerals, Field Trips, Leadership, and Flourescent Minerals.  Plus she got the Rockhound badge.
Brittani - Rocks and Minerals, and Earth Resources.
Matthew - Leadership.
